Prospective Students

Information for prospective Baylor bass students:

How to Apply

Follow the steps outlined here to apply to both Baylor University and the School of Music.

Suggestions: Consider these tips to strengthen your application and give you the best chance of being considered for all financial aid opportunities.

  • It is highly recommended that you apply by November 1 with an “Early Action” application. This is a non-binding application that will give you an admission decision by January 15, 2024.

  • There are three methods of applying to Baylor: goBaylor, ApplyTexas, and Common App. goBaylor tends to be the most efficient application process for prospective students (though all will work).

  • It is recommended that you complete both the FAFSA and CSS Profile

  • Complete all “optional” items in your application (i.e. resume, letters of recommendation, short answer response). Completing these significantly increases your chances of being accepted to the university.

  • Make sure to keep up with all communications from Baylor University admissions! Delays can occur if any information is missing in your application which can delay the admissions process!

  • Information on the CSS Profile and FAFSA need to match exactly – your financial aid package will show as incomplete until corrections are made.

  • Arrange for a free private lesson and tour the campus. I would encourage you to visit when the School of Music is active. Prospective students are often able to attend rehearsals, studio classes, and visit with members of the bass studio to get a great idea of what life would look like as a Baylor student!
