Two Octave Progressive Cycle Scales
This is the two-octave version of the accompanied progressive scale cycles that can be used for people wanting to focus on the lower register of the instrument. I've also seen students improve their intonation significantly after spending some time working with these scales regularly. Each play-along scale is about 11 minutes long and begins with an open “G” tuning note. The scale cycles progress from slower to faster with a high hat indicating the speed of the faster tempo. There is an organ sound in addition to the more percussive piano at the slower tempos so you can really listen to where the notes fit within the harmony.
